The 1964 edition of the Tartan was dedicated to this gentleman, Dr. Conway Pierce. I love that there are two pictures of him smoking in his classroom, which is a laboratory!

Thanks for looking. Have a craftastic weekend.

I think Dr Pierce looks a little like Philip Baker Hall.
At my first office job, everyone used to smoke at their desks! The firm used to have to paint the walls white every year. Those were the days!
You too have a craftastic weekend. I really enjoyed looking at your pics of marble-paper. I'd love to try doing this myself again, I did it years ago and really like the effects you can get.
Thanks Sam!
Hell yeah- he does look like Philip Baker Hall. How crazy is it that you said that, because the first night we got the book we were going through looking for look-a-likes!
When I used to smoke I always used to joke that I needed to live in a different era, where smoking my Lucky's was acceptable. Well, at least here in CA people are very anti-smoking- some towns it's illegal to smoke outside! Isn't that nuts? I quit, so I don't have to worry about that anymore. But I think it's just crazy that a town can ban it outdoors (like all of the emissions from cars and chemicals from all of the wineries around here are much better, lol?)
