Embroidery Giveaway!

It's giveaway time- again!  I'm posting these separately so that those who are interested in both prizes can enter both contests.  I was happy that the poll resulted in a hand-embroidered piece.  Not that I wouldn't have liked to go do lots of shopping, I just really enjoy stitching things for people.  As this piece and the ATC Kit were my first giveaways, I wanted to make them special.  Since all of the people that have supported my embroidery and blog have made me feel super special.  So the winner of this piece will get to personalize it!  I'll stitch the top portion to say whatever you want.  The font can match the bottom portion...or not.  I can fill the text in...or not.  I can add more color to the letters...or not.  Color, style, font, what it says- everything is up to you!

(Click on any of the photos to enlarge them.)

We went back and forth with name for her but I just couldn't pick one.  My hubby had the genius idea of letting the winner decide.  Naturally, this means that I can't mail it out to the winner right away.  However,  I hope that it'll be worth the wait since it'll be custom.

I used a banner from Sublime Stitching and tea-dyed it before transferring the pattern.  I stitched it up using DMC floss, with portions ranging from one strand to all six.  I even used the fancy schmancy glow-in-the dark floss for her crystal ball.  I really wanted to get a picture of it but they all sucked.  So, you'll just have to take my word for it, lol.  I went a little bead crazy, so I hope it wasn't too much.

The fortune teller comes from a new company called,

Started by Katy and Maureen of San Francisco, California, Sew Lovely Embroidery produces fun and original iron-on patterns for the stitching enthusiast.  You can find out more about these talented gals on their website.  Those of you who like detailed projects will just flip when you see the awesome designs they've come up with.  The possibilities are endless with their patterns!  You can see their samples, in all of their stitched glory, on their photostream.  You'll be inspired to get our your needle and thread.  Trust me!

In addition to the banner, personalized to your liking, the winner will also receive a packet of the Mad Ink Embroidery Patterns, generously provided by the ladies at Sew Lovely Embroidery, and some stitching goodies.

All you have to do to be entered to win is leave a comment after this post.  (These will be the only times I don't comment back as I don't want to throw off the numbers.)  That's it!  So tell me what motif you like stitching the most, or your favorite stitch or better yet- what pattern from Sew Lovely Embroidery you like the best!

The contest will be open until January 17th 2010.  The winner will be chosen using a random number generator and announced the next day.  At that time I'll get the information to continue with the customization of the piece.

Everyone is welcome, I'll ship internationally.  So tell your friends!

Thanks for looking and good luck.  Now go stitch something!

You rock! Thanks for giving the link to Sew Lovely, I'd never heard of them before. I like the Mad Ink one best since I like stitching anything a bit quirky. My favourite stitch, since you asked, would have to be split stitch, but I'm still very much a novice at this embroidery lark! samplers@iinet.net.au

I'm liking the mad ink one, the firey dice!

I love what you've done. I am actually party gypsy. My eastern european friends aren't to fond of me for that reason. heh.. Whatever gypsies are awesome, my mother pretty much has the fashion sense of one. I would love to hang this in my home!

I would love to go to SewLovely, but am having a brain dead day and can't find the link! Aiieee!

But I love, well, patterns like this-- things that look like old carnival banners, or traditional motifs. It took me ages to get interested in needlework because I only ever saw the hearts-and-flowers stuff, and I wanted something a bit more eclectic to stir my interest. So now I'm rotten. But this won't stop me trying out complicated things!

Also, this banner is AMAZING. I want to see and hold and love it, and hang it outside my booth at fairs. I am in banner love!

Hey, thanks for the link back to the right place to enter your giveaway. Once again, please throw my name in the hat!

Yes, stitching at the baseball game was fun... but on $1 beer night... not very productive :)

I checked out your profile, I LOVE Still Life with Woodpecker. Anything Tom Robbins actually. I think my favorite is Jitterbug Perfume.... or Another Roadside Attraction... Jesus at a hotdog stand... priceless.

Santa Rosa, aye? I'm just down the way in Lodi. Have you ever heard of Scooterosa? I've wanted to go for the past couple of years, but couldn't make it. Sounds like a good time though.

Happy Trails,
Lisa

Lately I have been enjoying embroidering old photos and random clip art from Dover books. All the patterns from all the different companies just all look alike after a while, but the Sew Lovely stuff looks more detailed which I like. It's hard to see the detail in their pictures so it would be awesome to try one out. Your piece is amazing! It must of taken forever!
