Darn you, Ikea!

Perhaps you've also uttered that phrase.  If so, you are feeling my "pain".  This past weekend we met up with some pals in Sacramento and cruised around Ikea.  They were shopping for some ridiculously cute baby stuff.  We, on the other hand, weren't shopping for anything.  At least, that's what we thought.  And then the madness set it, it all began with one little wire basket to hang by the sink.  Then an hour later we had a full cart of stuff!  How does that happen?

Typical me, I bought a ton of crafty stuff.

Colorful new homes for embroideries.

8 yards of fabric.  Yeah, I went a little crazy in that section.  The fabric on the bottom is destined to become pillow cases for the new couch pillows we also picked up.  It's so flipping adorable, I can't wait to show them to you!

A new floss jar.  It's HUGE- I can't wait until this baby is all filled up!  And I'm happy to report it's already acquired a nice, little layer of happy bits.

I can never say "no" to crafty stuff.  We got some other house stuff, nothing too exciting though.  Except for popsicle molds, who doesn't get excited about popsicles?!

Well, needless to say, I'll be sticking to thrifting my supplies for a while.  Except for one supervised trip to the craft store to pick up floss and pin-backs (more arcade brooches coming soon!!!)  My guy manages to keep me in check at the craft store by incessantly complaining.  It's makes it no fun to shop.  Therefore I leave quickly, spending little to no money.  It's a system that works for us, I guess.

Have you also been sucked into the Ikea vortex?

I've never been to Ikea though now if I do, I will remain cautious. I can relate to the supervised shopping trips to the craft store. I do the same exact thing with my husband. We crafters tend to get carried away.

Haha I've never been to Ikea for fear of being sucked in. I too take the hubs to craft stores for the same reason as you so I snorted when I read that. True that!

I was sucked into Ikea years ago back home in England. It is highly, dangerously addictive. I have to stop myself from visiting our nearest on in Charlotte!

lifemyway- I admit I can get very carried away in a craft store. I become overly ambitious, forgetting about things like time and bills, I dream up a billion projects.

Elizabeth- Glad I'm not the only one, lolz.

Becky- Darn their sensible Scandinavian designs and low prices! It made me want to redo my whole house!

I've definitely been sucked into the Ikea vortex before! The way it's all layed out just has me googly-eyed every time. Luckily, I don't live near one anymore!

I know! I love the mini rooms, all decked out. Especially the kids ones, they all look so fun! I can't wait to go back.

What do you use your floss jar for? Is that for usuable cut threads when there's no use for them at the moment?

Rookie Bebe- it's mainly for the ends that I snip off too short to work with. Sometimes there are longer pieces in there that I use for later projects when I don't need a lot of a certain color or a specific match. I use them in stuffies sometimes too, I try not to waste anything.
