Seemed like a good idea at the time...

I found this embroidery needle stuck in a little planner that I use sometimes.  I tend to find needles and pins in all sorts of my stuff.  I never want to leave them around for animals (or bare feet) to find, so I stick them in my stuff.  Like papers, or my shirt or my pants.  Our couch is leather, so luckily, I've gotten out of the habit of putting them in the couch ;)

This is one reason why I love listening to Stitching 'n' Junk.  I can always relate to the silly stitching stories- like random floss sticking to you in public or stitching yourself to your project.

What silly stitching habit do you have??

I kind of leave thread everywhere...when the wife was vacuuming the other day the brush on the vacuum had tons of floss wrapped around it...oops.

I have been doing a lot of redwork lately and there is a trail of red thread everywhere I go. It is getting a little out of control.

I am with you on keeping the needles & thread safe from the animals. Earlier this year one of our kits had to have serious (and v. expensive) surgery because she swallowed some embroidery floss. It got wrapped around her intestines. She was so, so sick. I can't tell you how scared I was. Since then I comb every inch of the floor and make sure there is nothing laying around. Cat owners, be warned! - Especially if you have a 'chewy' cat. I had a huge amount of guilt over this too.

I repeatedly stick my fingers, more so now than ever before. Puzzling...

Wow! Thanks guys for all of your responses! I love to hear about other people's crafty habits (good and bad ones)

Glad I'm not the only one who's picking little bits of floss off of themselves when standing in line someplace or on the way to work, lolz.

Lorna- I'm bad about needles/pins in my mouth too. I'm starting to get my conscious of it cause one of my kittys jumped on my lap and tried to rub on my face. I thought he was going to poke his little eye out! Scary!

Hmmm, I don't know if I've ever stabbed the guy with shirt needles while hugging him. I'll have to ask, that seems like a pretty common one.

Kym- Ha, I had to fix the vacuum at work one time and there was a bunch of different colored floss. I have no idea how it all got there, but I know it was from me :)

Becky- You bring up a good point about the floss bunnies that kitties can get a hold of. Thanks for that, I'll follow up on that in the next post.

Giddy99- I can imagine that the duvet it a tough one to stitch. I found that when my hand is in something like that or a bag that I get stuck a lot more often. I think that's why I haven't stitched a bag in so long, lolz.

I'm terrible about sticking the needle in the leg of my pants while I find thread and such and then forgetting where I put it! I panic often times looking around and in the chair until I find it in my pants. lol

I used to be so terrible about losing my needles everywhere and my bf was always the lucky one to find them (with his foot of course). Since I got the Sublime Stitching magnetic tool case, I've been more effective of keeping track of my needles. I still have the bad habit of holding the needle in my mouth as I switch colors though. I usually keep a little bundle of floss remains next to me but they are still all over the place no matter how I try to keep them to one place!

Always- Yep, pants are def. my first choice to stick them too. I do the panicked search as well, lol. Whenever I do, my guy gets a terrified look, like, "great, if I move it's going to stick me, I know it!"

Perla- magnets are smart, I've thought about a cuff style but wonder how often I'll really wear it :/
