Snapshot Friday!

My guy is the best!  He brought me to a place that has enough old photos for sale to have Snapshot Friday for the rest of my life.  Now you guys don't have to look at my boring ol' photos on Fridays anymore....if I posted one, I've been so bad lately.

I'm happy because I've missed the old timey photo Fridays.  I can't wait to go pick out some more from my new favorite store.

Look at the handsome devil I have for you guys today.
Gorgeous, huh?!  Kind of reminds me of Gene Kelly.  And that deckle edge?  Swoon.  This one definitely has me longing for a bygone era.

I've got a ton of projects to share with you guys, once my sorry butt gets them in the mail.  See you soon!  I have the weekend off and plan on spending a lot of time working on bloggy/etsy stuff.  Hopefully making up for my extreme lack of activity around these parts lately.

Hello, Lovelies!

Hi there, Guys...and Dolls.  Sorry it's been so long since I've checked in.  Trust me, I'd much rather be here telling you nice folks about crafty stuff, than job hunting.  However, Mama needs a new pair of shoes.  And groceries.  And a trip to the craft store.  And...well, a lot of things.   And all of that stuff takes money.  Lots of it.  So, alas, I am job hunting.  Thinking happy thoughts!

Between pounding the pavement and spending all day online filling out applications, I have got some fun stuff done.

Specifically, lots of painting.  My poor palette really does need a good cleaning.  However, I'm all out of rubbing alcohol at the moment.  It's fine though, I don't really feel like taking on that task anyways.  Too messy!

Sure is pretty though, isn't it?

Only problem I have when I paint?
I get paint everywhere.  So many of my clothes have paint on them....bits of our house too.  A spot on the floor here and there, perhaps a little on the kitchen table.  I'm bad.  If the guy sees me painting or calls me while I'm at it, he always asks if I'm wearing painting clothes.  You'd think I'd have learned by now, but no, I'm still ruining things.  When I get the urge to paint, I just pull out stuff and get to it.  If I'm lucky I throw on an apron.  Getting as far as changing my clothes?  Rare.  I have to get better at that!

I'll check in soon to show you a few things that I painted.  And some stitchy stuff!

Hope you're having a creative day.

Snapshot Friday!

Ok, kiddos, you know what time it is.  Ready for it?  Today I have some more poorly stored, badly mistreated art class refugees that took in.

This makes me want a pair of Saddle Shoes.  I already have cat eye glasses.  I might as well just finish off the look.

I like to imagine these are the same two gals later in life, still laughing it up together.  But instead of finding humor at a classmate's expense now they just laugh at their significant others.

Thanks for looking!  Have a craftastic weekend.

A Silly Sunday.

Helloooooo out there!  I noticed recently that I have a lot of new readers.  I just wanted to say hi and welcome to you guys.  Thanks for visiting.  Maybe you already know this, but in case you don't- 'round here, anything goes.  Questions, comments and rude remarks are always welcome.  Don't hold back.

This morning I woke up in the goofiest mood.
I feel sort of like this.

Did you know that Marilyn had to jump over 200 times to get this cover shot?  Just a little something I read in one of my favorite books, which contains the famous jumping photo by Philippe Halsman.  We picked this baby up at a thrift store for the always popular price of $4.

Sometimes I paint from a reference instead of real life.  If I had to choose one reference to use for the rest of my life, it would be this book.  Over 600 pages of classic photographic goodness.  I don't think it would ever get old.  Check it out if you ever get the chance.

Posts have been few and far between lately but watch out because that's all about to change.  I've been working on a ton of projects to share with you guys.  With the beginning of Spring came a resurgence in creativity.

I hope you enjoyed an artful and productive weekend.  See you again soon!
