Sneaky Peaky

How are you on this fine Friday?  Happy Canada Day to the readers in the North!  I'm home today and furiously digging into my to-do list.

As promised, a little teaser from the the project I'm working on right now.  It had to wait until today for a new picture, bad lighting last night when I came home from work.  Plus, the ones I already had were much too obvious.  I wanted an ambiguous shot.  So nice of me, huh?

Curious?  More to come soon, it's going pretty quick.  Probably because I'm really excited about it.  I have lots of smaller pieces planned around this concept.  While it's a very specific theme it still leaves room to experiment quite a bit.  That's probably my favorite thing about embroidery there is so much freedom to create different effects.  Ok, could I be any more cryptic with this description?!  You just have to see it to understand, I guess.

I'll be back later with "Snapshot Friday!" bet you thought this was it, huh?  Nope, just a sneak peak.  In the meantime, I'm off to blast records, stitch, clean my house (ugh!) and start a new art journal.  This one will be just for Sam, it's a swap long in the works.  A page a day for a whole month! I can't wait to see what Sam make's me, I love her style.  Anyway, see you again soon.

Tuesday Teaser

Today's Tuesday teaser is for the lovely Lisa.  She was kind enough to send me some goodies for paper crafting and sweet swag from the Renegade Craft Fair.  Awesome stamps from far away lands, an embroidered notebook to feed my paper addiction, blank ATCs, divine twine.... so many bits of wonderful.
Isn't the little strawberry she made so cute?  It hangs on my work bench where I keep special little things that make me happy.  (Here you can, kind of, also see Keni's paper crane and Sam's Guide to 2010.)

As I got together a little bundle of happy for her, it occurred to me- I can't send her something without including something stitchy.  After all, embroidery is what "introduced" us in the first place.  So, I set to work on a pattern that is sooooo her.  Can't show you guys yet, but here's a little preview.
I chose bright and happy colors, because that's what reminds me of Lisa!

I'll be back soon with tons of things to share.  Now that some major projects have gotten done, I'll have more time for regular blogging.  Yay!

Hope you guys are having a craftastic day!!

Torture.

My guy is good to me.  He often spoils me, surprises me and treats me like a princess.  However, sometimes he also likes to torture me.

For instance, he brought me this.
I found it the other day while cleaning up the workspace and I was reminded of how much money I could spend on art stuff if I had an unlimited budget.  (Not like that would be hard though.)  It has everything and I mean everything.  From student grade all the way up to professional grade.  From pencils to kilns.... literally everything.  It's intended for teachers so a lot of things come in bulk and larger sizes.   So for most things it's not very practical for me but a girl can dream.  Doesn't a whole box of rubber blocks for carving stamps sound just divine?

Well, I figured I would pass it along.  The torture, that is.  I know, I'm terrible.  But come on, how could I not?  I have to stay entertained somehow.

A little teaser for my upcoming giveaway!
Hmmm, I bet you want to know all the details, don't you?  Tune in this Friday to find out everything you need to know for your chance to win a fabulous prize!

Teaser for Sam! Part 2

Another teaser for the lovely and talented Sunnysidey!
Today's the day that I am mailing out my goodies, hopefully they don't take forever to arrive.  I love, love, love the way that everything turned out and can't wait to share them with you.  I honestly think that one of them is the best thing I have ever made.   I'm so glad it's going to go to someone who will give it a good home.

I'll check back in later with more fun stuff to show you!
Thanks for looking, go make something great.

Teaser for Sam!

Today I'm going to be a bit mean.  I'm going to post a little something to torture tease poor Sam.  See, we are doing a personal swap that involves a little guesswork.  We will both embroider each other a scene and a quote from a movie and the recipient has to figure out what it is from.  Accckkkk, it's so much fun!  I love how the one I'm working on right now is turning out.  However, it's so obvious that it was hard to take a picture that didn't give it away.  I hope this one doesn't.
For those of you in the know, please don't spill the beans.  The suspense of waiting for it to get to her is going to kill me, I know it.

Thanks for looking, gotta get back to stitching or these pieces will never be finished by the end of the month!  I hope you have a productive day.  I'll be back later to share my 12-pack with you...

Tuesday is for Teaser!

As promised, a giveaway teaser!

This little jar of whimsies will be in the ATC Kit Giveaway.
I love little doodads on my cards, don't you?

And this is for all of the stitchy folks out there.

A teaser for the embroidery giveaway.

Speaking of giveaways, look what I received from the lovely Floresita at Feeling Stitchy.

I was one of ten surprise winners in her giveaway a few weeks ago.  I wish I'd had the patience to take a picture before I opened it, it was wrapped so nicely.  However, I was like, "Accckkkkk, a present!!!" and promptly tore into it before I thought to grab a my camera.  What can I say?  It was Christmas time and my inner child was craving that tearing paper sound.  I feel so lucky!  A big thank you to the awesome folks at Feeling Stitchy!
